Prof. Helen Liu, Research Coordinator for the Faculty of Health Sciences was invited by Department of Social Work of Fu Jen Catholic University to share her current research tilted “Youth Cyberbullying: Understanding Contextual Paths to Prevention and Resilience”.
Prof. Helen Liu, Research Coordinator for the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ), was invited by the sister college in Taiwan—Department of Social Work, College of Social Sciences, Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU), to share her current research tilted “Youth Cyberbullying: Understanding Contextual Paths to Prevention and Resilience”, subsidized by the Macao Foundation. She mentioned the current studies on the cyberbullying of children and youth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which mainly goes into psychological health and cyberbullying. Additionally, the differences in the living environments and service modes of children and youth between Taiwan and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were explored from the perspective of ecosystems.
Prof. Liu pointed out that the feature of families in Macao lies in the 24-hour service industry, from the theoretical perspective of ecosystems. As many parents work in shifts, the care for children and youth becomes an issue
Meanwhile, students asked about the current employment in Macao during the interaction and discussion between the lecturer and the audience. Some students chose to talk in English, while others had been concerned that it might have been difficult to understand the English PowerPoint file. However, the lecture was easily understood. At last, Prof. Liu invited students to attend, together with their teachers, the 2023 International Symposium on Children and Youth Health and Well-being to be held in Macao on November 24.
