USJ Macao’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa’s (UCP) Faculty of Human Sciences, are creating a new international double degree programme combining the Bachelor of Communication and Media programme at USJ Macao and the Bachelor of Communication and Cultural Sciences programme at UCP.
The University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ Macao) and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) recently signed a protocol of double degree between USJ Macao’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities and UCP’s Faculty of Human Sciences.
The protocol was formally signed by USJ Macao’s Rector, Rev. Prof. Stephen Morgan, and UCP’s Rector, Prof. Isabel Capeloa Gil, on 7 March. The hybrid signing ceremony took place in Lisbon, Portugal, and in the Macao SAR. UCP’s Vice Rector, Prof. Margarida Mano, and the Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences, Prof. Nelson Ribeiro, witnessed the signing ceremony at USJ Macao.
This newly formed cooperation was developed with the objective of creating a double degree curriculum combining the Bachelor of Communication and Media programme at USJ Macao and the Bachelor of Communication and Cultural Sciences programme at UCP. Students from both institutions will be allowed to study for two years at each university, and upon completion of the four years of study, students will be awarded with two degrees from both the University of Saint Joseph Macao and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
The new double-degree programme is expected to begin implementation in the upcoming academic year 2024-2025.
