USJ Macao student recruitment representatives toured major cities of Malaysia to engage with students interested in pursuing further studies in China and Macao.
From March 11th to 15th, 2025, USJ Macao embarked on a recruitment trip to Malaysia led by the Macao Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEDJ) with fellow higher education institutions, participating in the large China Education Fair 2025 Edition. Co-organised by the Association of Graduates from Universities and Colleges of China, Malaysia and the United Chinese School Committees’ Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong) and supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, the fair boosts three stops in Muar, Klang and Penang, attracting thousands of high school students, teachers and parents in the cities and peripheral towns to talk to representatives of 50 colleges and universities across China.
The fairs were hosted at Muar Chung Hwa High School, Chung Hua Independent High School Klang and Jit Sin Independent High School respectively, each with an opening ceremony attended by principals, leaders and benefactors. Students were especially interested in USJ Macao’s generous scholarship opportunities, and its unique admissions interview component that allows students to present themselves beyond transcripts and standardised exam scores and converse with professors, an exciting opportunity especially to graduates currently undergoing the high pressure University entrance exam season. The Macao higher education institutions in attendance offer distinct study programmes across arts, humanities and social sciences, the primary interests of many local students at the fairs, and USJ Macao since the establishment of collaborations with educational partners such as Dong Zong and Foon Yew High School, has been keen on increasing opportunities and mutually beneficial exchange between Malaysian students and USJ students. The fair is expected to run annually, making it a key recurring venue for universities to engage with prospective students in the country.
