USJ Macao participated in the 17th AUAP General Conference under the theme “The Paradigm Shift in Higher Education: Values for Life” in Bhopal, India, and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with four Universities including Vikrant University in India, Daffodil International University in Bangladesh, Bataan Peninsula State University in the Philippines, and Our Lady of Fatima University in the Philippines.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao) recently participated in the 17th Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) General Conference, under the theme “The Paradigm Shift in Higher Education: Values for Life”, from 18 20 November 2024, at Jagran Lakecity University in Bhopal, India.
The delegation representing USJ Macao included the Rector, Rev’d Professor Stephen Morgan, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, and Manager of the International Affairs Office, Mrs. Ana Paula Mota.
The Conference served as a valuable platform for researchers, developers, and educators to investigate innovative solutions addressing emerging global challenges in higher education. Key areas of focus included “Integrating University Growth and Development with Sustainability: Strategies for the Future”, “Higher Education Ecosystem for Developing Value oriented Global Citizens”, “Impact of Technology & Digital Platform on Value Based Education: A Paradigm Shift in Higher Education”, “Developing Global Citizen: Social Responsibility and Cultural Awareness”, “Rethinking the Role of Values in Higher Education: Towards a Holistic Approach”, “Overcoming Global Challenges, achieving common goals” and Technology & Ethics: Navigating the digital frontier.
In line with USJ’s commitment to fostering international collaboration, the University had the opportunity to forged Memorandums of Understanding with four higher education institutions, namely, Vikrant University (VU), Madhya Pradesh, India, Daffodil International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Bataan Peninsula State University, Philippines, and Our Lady of Fatima University, Valenzuela City, Philippines.
These agreements encompass a broad range of collaborative initiatives, including joint research, cooperative projects, cultural and academic exchanges, joint supervision of theses, and participation in seminars, workshops, conferences, and academic meetings to explore the potential establishment of double degree programmes.
