USJ Macao signs collaboration protocol with Universidade de Aveiro

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Universidade de Aveiro (UA) on March 21, 2024.
On the 21st of March 2024, a delegation comprising representatives from the Macao S.A.R. Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), the University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ Macao), and six higher education institutions visited the Universidade de Aveiro (UA) in Portugal.
The visit aimed to engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as collaboration between universities in Macao and Portugal, promoting the mobility of teachers and students, and fostering international collaboration in research and teaching projects. Prof. Paulo Jorge Ferreira, the Rector of UA, provided an overview of UA’s international development, cooperation with enterprises, academic strengths, and management styles.
During the visit, a collaboration protocol was signed between the Rector of UA, Prof. Paulo Jorge Ferreira, and the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs of USJ Macao, Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, under the witness of Mr Teng Sio Hong, Deputy Director of the Macao S.A.R. Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ). The main objective is to strengthen collaboration between the universities in aspects such as faculty and student exchange programmes.
The Universidade de Aveiro was founded in 1973 and paved the way in the creation of teaching offers in several knowledge fields. Today, UA is widely recognised as one of the most innovative universities in Portugal, for the quality of its teaching and research and for its cooperation with regional and national business. It is ranked 344th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings and is among the top 10 universities in Portugal. (Source: UA Website)

USJ Macau assina protocolo de colaboração com a Universidade de Aveiro
No dia 21 de Março de 2024, uma delegação composta por representantes da Direcção dos Serviços de Educação e de Desenvolvimento da Juventude (DSEDJ) e de seis instituições de ensino superior incluindo a Universidade de São José (USJ Macau) visitou a Universidade de Aveiro (UA) em Portugal.
A visita teve como objectivo aprofundar o intercâmbio entre as universidades de Macau e Portugal, promover a mobilidade de professores e estudantes, e fomentar a colaboração internacional em projectos de investigação e ensino. O Reitor da UA, Professor Paulo Jorge Ferreira, apresentou uma visão geral sobre o desenvolvimento internacional da universidade, as cooperações com empresas, os pontos fortes académicos, e os estilos de gestão.
Durante a visita, foi assinado um protocolo de colaboração entre o Reitor da UA, Prof. Paulo Jorge Ferreira, e o Vice-Reitor para a Internacionalização e Assuntos Académicos da USJ Macau, Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, sob a testemunha do Sr. Teng Sio Hong, Diretor Adjunto da DSEDJ. O principal objetivo é reforçar a colaboração entre as universidades em aspectos como programas de intercâmbio de professores e estudantes.
A Universidade de Aveiro, fundada em 1973, abriu caminho para a criação de ofertas de ensino em diversas áreas do conhecimento e hoje é amplamente reconhecida como uma das universidades mais inovadoras de Portugal, pela qualidade do seu ensino e investigação e pela cooperação com o tecido empresarial regional e nacional.
