Quinta de Marmeleira signed two partnerships between USJ Macao and Sino-Lusophone Business Development Centre Hengqin on the 29th August. The initiative is designed to promote Macao’s agricultural sector and cultural exchanges.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), in collaboration with its Sino-Portuguese Business Development Centre Hengqin, and Quinta de Marmeleira, has formalized a partnership agreement aimed at advancing Macau’s green agricultural industry and promoting cultural exchanges between the Macao SAR, China, and Portugal.

The signing ceremony occurred on August 29, 2024, at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus, attended by distinguished guests including Dr. José Cesário, Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities of the Republic of Portugal; Mr. Alexandre Leitão, Consul-General of Portugal in Macao and Hong Kong; and Mr. Kevin Ho King Lun, Director of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau.

The agreements were signed between USJ Macao, represented by the Rector, Rev’d. Prof. Stephen Morgan, and Quinta de Marmeleira, represented by CEO Madame Liu Qiu Peng; and the USJ Sino-Portuguese Business Development Centre Hengqin, represented by Director Ms Angela Kam, and Quinta da Marmeleira, represented by Assistant CEO Ms. Carmen Wu.

The collaboration includes the establishment of an international talent training and exhibition platform designed to nurture expertise and innovation in the agricultural sector and to contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area.

The USJ Sino-Portuguese Business Development Centre based in Hengqin, is dedicated to facilitating economic, trade, and cultural cooperation between China and Portugal.

USJ Macau, o Centro de Desenvolvimento Empresarial Sino-Lusófono da USJ em Hengqin e a Quinta de Marmeleira assinaram acordos de parceria

A Universidade de São José (USJ), em colaboração com o seu Centro de Desenvolvimento Empresarial Sino-Português em Hengqin, e a Quinta de Marmeleira, formalizou um acordo de parceria com o objetivo de promover a indústria agrícola verde de Macau e o intercâmbio cultural entre a RAEM, a China e Portugal.

A cerimónia de assinatura ocorreu no dia 29 de agosto de 2024, no Campus da Ilha Verde da USJ, e foi presenciada pelos ilustres convidados Senhor Secretário de Estado das Comunidades Portuguesas da República Portuguesa, Dr. José Cesário, Cônsul-Geral de Portugal em Macau e Hong Kong, Alexandre Leitão, e Diretor da Associação de Indústria e Comércio de Macau, Kevin Ho King Lun.

Os acordos foram assinados entre a USJ Macau, representada pelo Reitor, Rev. Stephen Morgan, e a Quinta de Marmeleira, representada pela CEO, Sra. Liu Qiu Peng; e o Centro de Desenvolvimento Empresarial Sino-Português da USJ, representado pela Directora Angela Kam, e a Quinta da Marmeleira, representada pela Diretora Executiva Adjunta, Sra. Carmen Wu.

A colaboração inclui a criação de uma plataforma internacional de formação e exposição de talentos, destinada a fomentar a especialização e a inovação no sector agrícola e a contribuir para o desenvolvimento da área da Grande Baía.

O Centro de Desenvolvimento Empresarial Sino-Lusófono da USJ sediado em Hengqin, visa  facilitar a cooperação económica, comercial e cultural entre a China e Portugal.
