A delegation from USJ Macao engaged on a pioneering initiative to reinforce ties with secondary schools in Cape Verde’s São Vicente Island.
A delegation from the University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ Macao) comprised of the Head of Delegation of USJ Macao in Portugal, Mr Francisco Peixoto, and team members of the International Affairs Office (IAO), Manager Mrs Ana Paula Mota, and Officer Ms Teresinha Fok, embarked to Cape Verde on an ambitious exchange to reshape the educational landscape on behalf of the University. USJ Macao has engaged on a pioneering initiative to reinforce ties with secondary schools in Cape Verde’s São Vicente Island. This strategic partnership is set to usher in a new era of academic collaboration and mutual growth, inspiring hope for the future of education in Mindelo city in São Vicente Island.
The initiative marks a significant milestone in fostering an environment where young learners from Mindelo city are encouraged and empowered to pursue higher education with confidence and enthusiasm.
The objective was to identify opportunities to implement the USJ’s Scholarship for students from the Liceu Ludgero Lima and Secondary School Dr José Augusto Pinto. USJ Macao aims to alleviate the financial burden associated with higher education, ensuring that talented and deserving students have access to the opportunities that higher education affords, regardless of their economic background. Another significant feature of this innovative partnership is the provision of scholarships and financial aid packages specifically tailored for students from these partner secondary schools.
Additionally, engaging with these high school students provides them with first-hand exposure to the programmes offered at USJ Macao, enabling them to make more informed decisions about their future academic paths and consider USJ Macao as a destination to pursue their studies.
By working together, these institutions are establishing a new benchmark for educational collaboration that will have a lasting impact on students, educators, and the wider community.
