USJ Macao recently took part in ArtTech Fusion 2024: “New ArtTech For Future Generations”, an event organised with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in Vietnam, along with several other institutions from around the world, to explore the relationship between art, technology, and innovation.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao recently took part in ArtTech Fusion 2024: “New ArtTech For Future Generations”, an event organised with USJ’s partner university, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in Vietnam, along with several other institutions from around the world. This gathering aimed to explore the relationship between art, technology, and innovation.

ArtTech Fusion 2024 brought together key thought leaders from various universities and partner institutions, including Austria, the Philippines, Brazil, and Thailand. The event featured an inspiring series of keynotes, special panels, and parallel sessions that explored cutting-edge advancements and interdisciplinary research in art and technology.

Keynote speakers from USJ addressed topics related to digital transformation and its effects on art and design education. Panels included insights from Austria and Brazil on how these regions are implementing technological advancements in creative industries. Representatives from Thailand and the Philippines shared their experiences in integrating culture and technology to support development in their communities.

ArtTech Fusion 2024 provided a forum for academic leaders, artists, and industry professionals to share ideas and envision the future of art and technology for the next generation.

Blockchain and Commercial Art Exchange: Unfolding an Hype-Cycle

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

This keynote introduced and discussed the role of blockchain technology, particularly in non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and how it has reshaped our understanding of and engagement with the art world. It delved into the impact of Blockchain and NFTs on the art market, exploring the challenges and opportunities they have brought forth. Through this seminar, participants understood how Blockchain and NFTs have transformed our imagination and interaction with contemporary art.

Postdigital Design Strategies for Media Art

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

  • PROF. MARTIN KALTENBRUNNER (University Of Arts Linz, Tam Lab) – USJ partner University
    This keynote focused on the blend of digital and physical worlds in design, exploring how digital technologies and physical experiences had been integrated to create unique products and experiences that delivered profound value to users and businesses. The seminar encouraged creativity and innovation in developing products and experiences based on Postdigital Design principles.

Tailored for creative professionals, students, and technology enthusiasts, the workshops delved deeply into the latest technological tools, methodologies, and artistic practices.
