USJ Orientation Day 2019/2020, organised by the OSAA and supported by 23 students, was held on September 5th 2019
The Orientation Day 2019 of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) was held on September 5th to welcome the new students.
Organised by the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs (OSAA) and supported by 23 student mentors, new students from pre-university and undergraduate programmes plus a few from postgraduate levels participated in the event, as well as senior students and academic and administrative staff.
In the opening session, Prof. Fr. Peter Stilwell, Rector of USJ, gave a warm welcome to the new students, followed by discussions initiated by Ms Teresa Loong, Director of OSAA, and by 3 student representatives, in which they shared how to enrich their campus lives and experiences by seizing every opportunity during their study.
The orientation provided information for the new students to ease their transition into a collegiate environment through an array of activities such as meeting their academic units, orienteering, etc.
There will be ongoing induction sessions arranged in the coming 3 weeks to assist the new students in the immersion into campus lives. The induction sessions are scheduled as follows:
- SOS – Support of Students (September 10th)
- CPU – Clubs Pair with U (September 17th)
- CEO – Campus Emerging Orientation (September 24th)
