USJ Participates in Thailand's Largest International Education Expo, Strengthens Collaborative Ties

USJ Macao, along with several other local higher education institutions, participated in the OCSC International Education Expo in Thailand, exploring potential collaborations with Thai educational institutions and showcasing its programs to prospective students.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao, participated in the “OCSC International Education Expo” in Thailand on October 19th to 23rd, 2023, led by Teng Sio Hong, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) of the Macao S.A.R Government, along with six other higher education institutions in Macao. The OCSC International Education Expo is the biggest international education event in Thailand with over 300 leading institutions from over 23 countries.
The USJ delegation, formed by Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-rector for Student Affairs, Ms. Kitieng Chan, Senior Officer and Ms. Jenny Hong, Officer from the International Affairs Office, were invited to visit two prestigious universities, namely the Chulalongkorn University and the Asian Institute of Techmology, exploring possible opportunities in student and faculty exchanges and research collaborations in the area of science, technology and business. The two Universities shared the common goal with USJ of working towards the achievement of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The exchanges have been fruitful and meaningful.
During the trip, USJ signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association that has a network of nearly 1,000 Chinese teachers and 128 Chinese schools. The signed MOU lays a solid foundation for future collaboration and exchanges in education, promotion of Chinese language education, bilateral traditional partnership and cultural, educational and technological collaborations. The delegation also visited the Thai Alumni Association of China’s Universities. Through these visits, USJ gained a deeper understanding of Thai educational institutions with the aim of promoting the potential international development and connecting USJ Thai alumni members with the Thai community.
Throughout the Expo, many prospects students and their parents showed great interest in the programmes offered at USJ. Furthermore, USJ had the honour of welcoming Ms. Feng Junying, Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand, who was accompanied by Deputy Director Stanley Ting, to its booth to share the latest institutional and academic developments.
