Ms. Tammy Chu of the USJ Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education presented a research titled “Reciprocity in a School-University Partnership Project: Towards a Macau-based Give-Get Model” at the IV Uniservitate Global Symposium.
On 9 November 2023, representatives from the School of Education (SED) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) participated in the IV Uniservitate Global Symposium. The symposium, with the theme “Transformative Service-Learning: Cultivating Student Engagement, Community Partnership, and Spiritual Reflection for Social Change,” was hosted by De La Salle University in the Philippines.
Ms. Tammy Chu, the School Development Officer of the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE) at SED, presented during the Community Partnership session on a research titled “Reciprocity in a School-University Partnership Project: Towards a Macau-based Give-Get Model.”
The research focused on the collaboration between USJ and the Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) in a School-University Partnership project called the GEG Chinese Literacy Education and Research (CLEAR) Project. Since 2020, this project has been housed in DLCRE/USJ. The GEG CLEAR project has developed various communication mechanisms to assist in-service kindergarten teachers in applying their knowledge acquired from the project’s teacher trainings into practice, serving as an exemplary case of theory-practice integration for teacher education.
