USJ signed MOU with the Siam University of Thailand

On 7 December 2022, Vice-Rector of USJ, Prof. Álvaro Barbosa and the President of the Siam University, Prof. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, signed a MOU at the premise of Siam University in Thailand.
In the context of cultivating academic cooperation relations, the Rector of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Reverend Professor Stephen Morgan, represented by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa and the President of the Siam University, Professor Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 7th, December 2022 at the premise of Siam University in Thailand.
Both Institutions aim to foster International Service-Learning and Global Programmes, Academic Mobility among Students and Faculty in various areas, such as Innovation, Technology, Economic Development, Business and Administration, likewise promote joint research activities and publications.
The signing ceremony was attended by other members of Siam University, the Assistant President, Professor Maruj Limpawattana and the Deputy Director of International Affairs, Mrs Yhing Sawheny.
Siam University founded in 1965 by the late Dr Narong Mongkhonvanit was the first 3-year private engineering school in Thailand. It has become the fifth largest private university with a student body comprising over 15,000 students across 13 programmes, including an International and Graduate Programme. With students from at least 15 nationalities, Siam University is ranked among Thailand’s top ten private Universities and 3rd for its population of International students by Thailand’s Commission of Higher Education, part of the Thai Ministry of Education. “As of 2019, Siam University ranks 7th in Thailand and 159th worldwide for the UIGreenMetric World University Ranking. Various well-respected international organisations recognise Siam University as a member of IAU, AACSB, GUNI, ASAIHL, and ACD-UN”.
