PGDE student, Miss Cheang Wai I, participated in the 3rd Student Leadership Camp: “Global Citizenship Education through Innovation and Partnership” hosted by Siam University from March 27 to April 2, 2023.
The 3rd Student Leadership Camp: “Global Citizenship Education through Innovation and Partnership”, was hosted by Siam University from March 27 to April 2, 2023. In this camp, students and professors from 8 different nations gathered to share ideas of sustainability and sustainable development growth. Post-Graduate Diploma in Education student, Miss Cheang Wai I, represented the University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ) in this Camp.
Siam University has organised a series of activities to allow participants to get close to each other. Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University, and his professional team paid much effort for the students and brought about an incredible experience. The Thailand traditional dance and music performances gave the participants a deeper understanding of Thai culture. At the same time, they participated in a lot of games to enhance the team spirit.
During the camp, participants were led to places for exploration of the history of Thailand, such as the Siam Museum, the Wat Oak Pak Nam temple, and sightseeing around the Chao Phraya River. After the lectures on campus and the sightseeing around the city, students formed into groups of four and made a presentation about the sustainability and work-integrated learning experience. During the presentation, every participant put on his/her national costume, representing the idea of the joint effort from every nation in contributing to world sustainability.
Feedback from USJ representative:
“The friends from all other nations were so friendly; they gave me a lot of incredible memories about Thailand. They have brought me around to the city and showed me how integrated and friendly this country is. The Student Leadership camp has introduced me to a lot of new experiences in south east Asian countries. During this week, I also gained knowledge about academic and global issues which all of us should focus on.”
