USJ received a visit from the delegation of the Consulate General of Brazil in Hong Kong and Macau on 17 February 2023.
Last Friday, 17 February 2023, the University of Saint Joseph, Macao (USJ), had the honour of receiving a visit from the delegation of the Consulate General of Brazil in Hong Kong and Macau, composed by the Consul General, Ambassador Manuel Innocêncio de Lacerda Santos Júnior, and accompanied by the Consuls, Ivan Carlo Padre Seixas and Alexandre Alvim Ribeiro.
The visit by the members of the consulate-general of Brazil in Hong Kong and Macau took place to consolidate the Memorandum of Understanding signed in the first half of 2022-2023 with the aim of strengthening academic exchange between Brazil and the Special Administrative Region of Macau, China, with the installation of the first lecturer from Guimarães Rosa Istitute at the university.
The delegation visited USJ’s campus and held a meeting attended by Rev. Professor Stephen Morgan, Rector of USJ, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Carlos Sena Caires, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Professor Alexandre Lobo, Coordinator of the Doctoral Programme, Professor Adérito Fernandes Marcos, Manager of International Affairs, Mrs Ana Paula Mota, Head of Department of Language and Culture, Professor Tânia Ribeiro Marques and the lecturer from Guimarães Rosa Institute Camila Oliveira Macêdo.
The Rector of USJ welcomed the delegation’s visit and briefly presented the academic collaboration undertaken with other Brazilian higher education institutions, and took the opportunity to praise the performance demonstrated by Guimarães Rosa’s lecturer at USJ.
The Consul-General, Ambassador Manuel Innocêncio de Lacerda Santos Júnior, expressed his gratitude for the University’s warm welcome, mentioning that he intends to continue to support the strengthening of academic cooperation between Brazil and USJ.

Na última sexta-feira, 17 de fevereiro de 2023, a Universidade de São José Macau (USJ) teve a honra de receber a visita da delegação do Consulado Geral do Brasil em Hong Kong e Macau. O Cônsul-Geral, Embaixador Manuel Innocêncio de Lacerda Santos Júnior, acompanhado pelos Cônsules, Ivan Carlo Padre Seixas e Alexandre Alvim Ribeiro.
A visita da delegação do Consulado-Geral do Brasil em Hong Kong e Macau ocorreu para reforçar o Memorando de Entendimento assinado no primeiro semestre de 2022-2023 com o objectivo de fortalecer o intercâmbio acadêmico entre o Brasil e a Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, China, nomeadamente com a instalação do Primeiro Leitorado Guimarães Rosa na universidade.
A delegação visitou o campus da USJ, e realizou um encontro que contou com a presença do Magnífico Reitor Rev. Prof. Stephen Morgan, do Director da Faculdade de Artes e Humanidades, Prof. Carlos Sena Caires, do Director do Departamento de Administração de Empresas, Prof. Alexandre Lobo, do Coordenador do Programa de Doutorado, Prof. Adérito Marcos, da Coordenadora Executiva de Assuntos Internacionais, Sra. Ana Paula Mota, da Directora do Departamento de Línguas e Cultura, Prof. Tânia Ribeiro Marques e da Leitora, Prof. Camila Oliveira Macêdo.
O Reitor da USJ deu as boas vindas e apresentou brevemente a colaboração académica desenvolvida junto às instituições de Ensino Superior Brasileiras, e aproveitou a oportunidade para enalteceu a desempenho demonstrado pelo Leitorado Guimarães Rosa na USJ.
O Cônsul-Geral, Embaixador Manuel Innocêncio de Lacerda Santos Júnior, agradeceu o caloroso acolhimento da Universidade de São José Macau, referindo que pretende continuar a apoiar o reforço da cooperação académica entre o Brasil e a USJ.
