USJ's Prof. Nuno Soares appointed Coordinator of CIALP Cities and Heritage Committee

Prof. Nuno Soares has been appointed Coordinator of the Cities and Heritage Committee of CIALP – Conselho Internacional dos Arquitectos de Língua Portuguesa – for the years 2020 to 2022. 



Prof. Nuno Soares, Acting Head of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Creative Industries of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), has been appointed Coordinator of the Cities and Heritage Committee of CIALP – Conselho Internacional dos Arquitectos de Língua Portuguesa – for the years 2020 to 2022. 

CIALP is a non-governmental organisation based in Lisbon (Portugal). It is composed of the professional associations of architects from countries and territories where Portuguese is an official language. Its ambition is to approach and deepen the cooperation between its members, as well as to promote architecture among people who speak Portuguese. CIALP has members in nine countries and territories: Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Goa, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Príncipe. Timor-Leste 

The organization serves as a platform for more than 250,000 architects of the Portuguese language, represented by the Professional Associations delegates of the respective countries and territories, a universe that englobes around 250 million Portuguese-speaking persons.

CIALP is an institutional partner of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and an advisory observer of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).

Prof. Nuno Soares has been involved actively with CIALP since 2012 where he was the Coordinator of the Cities and Territories working group previously.
