USJ's Volunteer Team Promote Macao-Wide Sino-Portuguese Cultural Student Exchange in Hengqin, Zhuhai

A team of volunteers composed by fourth-year Bachelor of Business Administration students worked together with the Macau Cable TV on “Sino-Portuguese Cultural Exchange Tour – Hengqin Tour”.
The “Sino-Portuguese Cultural Exchange Tour – Hengqin Tour” event, co-sponsored by the People’s Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In Depth Cooperation Zone and Macau Cable TV, was held on October 14th, 2023.
Nearly 130 students from six Higher Education Institutions in Macau participated, with almost 50 being international students from Portuguese-speaking countries currently studying in Macao, and the remaining being students studying Portuguese-related subjects.
A team of volunteers composed of 15 fourth-year Bachelor of Business Administration students from the Univeristy of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) worked together with the Macau Cable TV team to coordinate the event, allowing young students to get to know Hengqin and gain an in-depth understanding of Hengqin’s development. The group visited the Hengqin planning exhibition hall, start-up enterprises and multiple landmark cultural tourism projects to gain an in-depth understanding of the current status and development trends of various industries In Depth Cooperation Zone from multiple perspectives.
On the night of the gala, Ms. Bai Bing, Director of the Cultural and Sports Division of the Department of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao, Ms. Feng Fangdan, Deputy Director of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, Mr. Chen Xuwei, Director of the Student Department of the Macau Education and Youth Development Bureau, and Ms.Huang Qiong’e, Acting Director of the Cultural and Creative Industries Promotion Department of the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau, Prof. João Alexandre Lobo Marques, Head of Department of Business Administration of USJ, and many other guests attended that served as officiating guests.
The University of Saint Joseph’s Faculty of Business and Law is committed to promoting youth exchanges between China and Portuguese- Speaking Countries and provide opportunities for student centered learning and growth through diversified activities and teaching models.
