The USJSA Business Club participated in the “Prevention of Juvenile Crime and Career Planning” seminar organised by the Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) and the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) on 15 March.

A group of members of the University of Saint Joseph Student’s Association (USJSA) Business Club, along with Club mentor Prof. Florence Lei, and year 4 Bachelor of Business Administration students, participated in the “Prevention of Juvenile Crime and Career Planning” seminar organised by the Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) and the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) on March 15, 2023.

The university students-oriented activity aims to raise young people’s awareness on preventing money laundering crimes.

At the GIF, students learned about anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing laws in Macao, recent cases of money laundering, and how to prevent these crimes. The speaker also shared with students the career path of the compliance profession. The presentation at the AMCM gave students an overview of the financial industry in Macao, its increasing significance in Macao’s economy, and the career prospects in financial institutions in the Greater Bay Area.

This is the first field visit of the Business Club since the outbreak of COVID-19. The USJSA Business Club plans to organise more on-campus and off-campus activities in the near future and welcomes all USJ students interested in business knowledge to join the club and participate in the activities.
