“Copyright Plus” Innovation Exchange Conference was held on February 24th, 2023, at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area – Shunde Collaboration Centre.
Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), attended the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao “Copyright Plus” Innovation Exchange Conference on February 24th, 2023, at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area – Shunde Collaboration Centre.
The conference was sponsored by Shunde District Copyright Bureau and Shunde District Dawan District Office, organised by Shunde Copyright Center, and co-organized by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exchange Promotion Center, and USJ, among different institutions.
During the Conference, Professor Barbosa delivered an academic presentation on the topic of “Design and AI – Copyright Challenges” where he presented the challenges and opportunities of incorporating and using AI software on students’ design projects, showcasing case-studies from USJ’s design studio projects, conducted by Prof. Carlos Cairos, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of USJ, during the current academic year.
The Guandong, Hong Kong and Macao “Copyright Plus” Innovative Works Exhibition was also launched on the same day showcasing various outstanding industrial design copyright works from Hong Kong and Macao, including paintings, furniture, clothing, ceramics, paper cuttings, embroidery, fish lantern, and other categories. The exhibition aims to promote multi-party exchanges in the form of works exhibition and stimulate talent innovation and creativity.
Attendees of the Conference included Qiu Guosheng, Executive Deputy Director of the Dawan District Office of Shunde District, Zuo Zijian, Deputy Director of the Dawan District Office of Shunde District, Zeng Guanglei, Chief of the Press, Publication, Radio and Television Section (Copyright Section) of the Publicity Department of Shunde District Committee, Liu Shaojie, Researcher of the Press, Publication, Radio and Television Section (Copyright Section) of the Publicity Department of Shunde District Committee, Zheng Zhiping, Head of the Industrial Service Center of Science and Technology Innovation Group, Dr. Pedro Osona, senior overseas intellectual property consultant of Shunqi Intellectual Property Protection Service Center, Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice Rector of USJ, Professor Qiu Haixiong of Sun Yat-sen University and other leading guests and enterprise representatives.
