Representatives from the De La Salle University-UNISERVITATE Asia & Oceania Regional Hub (UA& ORH) visited USJ on 9th August, 2024.
The “Third Macau Secondary School Model United Nations Conference” co-organised by the Macau Model United Nations Promotion Association (MMUNPA), the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Macao Observatory for Social Development, was held from the 9th to the 11th of August at USJ.
The workshop aimed to help students re-examine their values, attitudes, knowledge and skills, discover their expectations and aspirations for their learning and life, and create a mutually supportive and encouraging space to facilitate exchange among the students.
USJ organised a successful coastal clean-up, collecting 70kg of marine debris and using the recently developed SWEEP Macao app, developed by the ISE/USJ team, to identify and quantify the debris collected.
The Commission for World Mission and Evangelization (CWME) of the World Council of Churches (WCC, headquarters in Switzerland) assembled in person for the first time in their term (2023-2030) in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by the “All Africa Council of Churches” (AACC) in Desmond Tutu Conference Center, from the 5th to the 11th of July, 2024.
USJ Macao and UCASAL Signed a Memorandum of Understanding to Foster Student and Faculty Exchange

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao) and the Universidad Católica de Salta (UCASAL) in Argentina have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to authenticate the collaborative partnership.
The “Macao – Hengqin Industry – Academia – Research Networking in Tech Innovation and Signing Ceremony” was held on 19 July 2024 in the Hengqin Guangdong – Macao In Depth Cooperation Zone. At the event, the government witnessed the announcement of three new research institutes in Hengqin namely “USJ (Hengqin) Advanced Technology Research Institute”, “University of Saint Joseph Research Centre of Applied Neurosciences in Hengqin”, and “USJ Sino-Lusophone Business Development and Incubation Centre in Hengqin”.
The University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ) significantly contributed to the success of the 2nd International Conference: Resilience by Technology and Design (RTD 2024) held from July 15-18, 2024.
On July 5, 2024, the ” Inmates and Juvenile Delinquents’ Handicraft Exhibition 2024″ was held at the Macao Science Center’s Convention Hall, jointly organized by the Correctional Services Bureau and the Macao Science Center, the Municipal Affairs Bureau, the Social Welfare Bureau, and the Education and Youth Development Bureau.
The Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of USJ organised a training workshop for teachers of Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai on May 11.
The "CLEAR Project Team visits partner kindergartens to explore the development of early literacy

The Chinese Literacy Education and Research Project (referred to as the CLEAR Project) was planned in 2016 and has been housed in the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE) at the University of Saint Joseph, Macao since July 2020.
The “Training Course for Macao’s Workers in Science and Technology” organised by FDCT and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, aimed to provide experts and scholars from Macao’s universities and enterprises with an in-depth understanding of the national policies and plans for the development of scientific and technological (S&T) innovation, and facilitate Macao’s integration into the overall national development.
The two parties held a MoA Signing Ceremony and Academic Exchange Meeting, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of USJ, Dr. Jacky Ho, and the Dean of the School of Social and Public Administration, Tu Bin, proceeded to sign a Memorandum of Agreement to implement development plans for the jointly covered areas.

A three-day international symposium was held in Portugal on 6 – 8 June as part of the First Sino-Portugal Joint Laboratory for Marine and Environmental Sciences (JLMES).
