USJ Hardship Fund
The present Corona Virus Pandemic and the corresponding preventive
measures are having a dramatic effect on the ability of some students
to sustain themselves financially.
This is especially true of some of our international students. They
chose Macao for their Higher Education but now find the revenue from
their home country compromised and they are not permitted to work
locally. They are now unable to pay full tuition, housing and even in
some cases their food.
To tackle this serious problem, we are establishing a USJ Hardship
Fund. It will be managed by our Scholarship and Fellowship Committee
and will support any students in exceptionally difficult situations
until they can resume their normal lives. The fund will collect
on-line Donations and publish regular audited reports on their use.
The list of beneficiaries will be strictly confidential. Each student
must engage with support and advice provided by the University and
will be offered counselling.
