中葡海洋與環境科學聯合實驗室是四個機構於2020年簽署諒解備忘錄的成果，旨在發展海洋和環境科學領域的合作，並由中國科學技術部資助。 中葡海洋與環境科學聯合實驗室目標是透過澳門促進葡萄牙與中國在海洋和環境科學領域的科學合作，促進未來可持續藍色經濟的發展。
活動第一天在里斯本葡萄牙海洋與大氣研究所（IPMA）舉行了海洋生態系統和生物資源利用研討會。第二天和第三天，分別在葡萄牙海洋和大氣研究所(IPMA)和、葡萄牙天主教大學生物技術與精細化學中心 (CBQF-UCP)舉行研討會開幕式。
6 月 7 日，儀式在 葡萄牙海洋與大氣研究所開幕，由四個合作機構的代表主持，包括 葡萄牙海洋與大氣研究所董事會成員 Maria Ana Martins 博士、葡萄牙海洋與大氣研究所代表Narcisa Bandarra博士，中國科學院張亞平副院長, 中國科學院海洋研究所王凡所長, 中國科學院國際合作局吳艷副局長；聖若瑟大學科學與環境研究所(ISE-USJ) 院長David Gonçalves 教授及葡萄牙天主教大學生物技術與精細化學中心主任Manuela Pintado 教授。
6月8日，葡萄牙天主教大學生物技術與精細化學中心代表團與主禮嘉賓會面，成員包括葡萄牙天主教大學校長伊莎貝爾·吉爾教授、聖大校長麥侍文教授、葡萄牙天主教大學副校長Isabel Braga da Cruz教授，葡萄牙天主教大學生物技術學院院長Castro 教授等。兩天的活動均由四個機構和中國科學院的代表致詞、中國科學院海洋研究所于仁成教授介紹中葡海洋與環境科學聯合實驗室、隨後進行剪綵儀式和揭牌儀式。代表團也參觀了葡萄牙海洋與大氣研究所和、葡萄牙天主教大學生物技術與精細化學中心研究設施。
較早時，來自四個機構的科學家齊聚葡萄牙海洋與大氣研究所，分享在中國、葡國及澳門不同背景的海洋生態系統和生物資源可持續利用方面的最新研究成果。
