聖若瑟大學五月廿三日辦第四任校長就職典禮
USJ Held the Installation of the Fourth Rector on 23 May 2020
On 23 May 2020, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) held the Installation of its Fourth Rector in the Auditório Centenário de Fátima at the Ilha Verde Campus at 5:00pm. USJ’s new Rector, Reverend Professor Stephen Morgan, is a Welshman and Deacon of the Diocese of Portsmouth in England who has been a professor at the University since September 2018, where he also held the titles of Dean of the Faculty of Religious Studies and Professor Librarian. The installation was officiated by the Most Reverend Stephen Lee Bun-sang, Chancellor of USJ. Honourable guests included the representative of the Chief Executive, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms. Ao Ieong U; Deputy Minister of Department of Education and Youth Affairs of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr. Hong Bo; Head of the Department of Public Diplomacy and Information of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr. Zheng Xinyou; Director of the Higher Education Bureau, Mr. Sou Chio Fai; Deputy Director of Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Ms.Leong Vai Kei; representatives from other Government departments, institutions, benefactors, corporations, and the University’s Student Association and Alumni Association.
Besides marking the beginning of the Reverend Professor Morgan’s mandate, it was also a formal opportunity to thank the retiring Rector, Reverend Professor Peter Stilwell, for his eight years of stewardship and leadership of the University. Bishop Stephen Lee remarked that “the years ahead are filled with promise for USJ. It is an institution which uniquely expresses a key aspect of Macao as a place of cultural, intellectual and religious encounter.”
Reverend Professor Stephen Morgan, in his speech, admitted that “a change of leadership must imply changes to the place”, but reinforced that “the change will always be undertaken with the intention of preserving and strengthening the identity and mission of the University”. Professor Morgan finalised his speech with the promise of his untiring efforts, as a colleague and servant-leader, to undertake this work.

聖若瑟大學(聖大)於5月23日（星期六）下午五時正假青洲校舍花地瑪百年顯現紀念堂舉辦第四任校長就職典禮。新任校長麥侍文教授是一位隸屬英國樸茨茅斯教區的威爾士籍執事，自2018年9月起擔任該校的教授、期後兼任宗教研究學院院長及圖書館發展總監。典禮由聖若瑟大學校監暨澳門教區李斌生主教主持，出席嘉賓包括行政長官代表社會文化司司長歐陽瑜、中央人民政府駐澳門特別行政區聯絡辦公室教育與青年工作部副部長洪波、中華人民共和國外交部駐澳門特別行政區特派員公署外交公署新聞和公共外交部主任鄭新友、高等教育局局長蘇朝暉、教育暨青年局副局長梁慧琪、各政府部門、學校、善長仁翁、機構、聖若瑟大學學生會及校友會代表等。
是次典禮除了標誌著新任校長的任期開始，亦提供一個正式的機會，以感謝即將退休的校長蒒沛德教授八年來的管理和領導。李斌生主教在致詞中提到未來歲月為聖若瑟大學來說是充滿展望的。它是一個能夠體現出澳門獨特一面的機構，是文化、知識和宗教交滙的地方。
麥侍文教授展望聖若瑟大學隨著領導更替，少不免改變，但必為堅持及加強聖大身份使命而行。他藉機會向大家承諾將會努力不懈，與同事並肩實行工作。

USJ Assinalou a Tomada de Posse do Quarto Reitor a 23 de Maio de 2020
No dia 23 de Maio de 2020, a Universidade de São José (USJ) assinalou a Tomada de Posse do Quarto Reitor no Auditório Centenário de Fátima, no Campus da Ilha Verde, às 17h00. O novo Reitor da USJ, Reverendo Professor Stephen Morgan, é Galês, Diácono da Diocese de Portsmouth na Inglaterra e professor na Universidade desde Setembro de 2018; onde também ocupou os cargos de Director da Faculdade de Estudos Religiosos e Professor Bibliotecário. A Tomada de Posse foi conduzida por Sua Excelência Reverendíssima, o Bispo de Macau, D. Stephen Lee Bun-sang, Chanceler da USJ. Entre os ilustres convidados, encontravam-se a representante do Chefe do Executivo, a Secretária para os Assuntos Sociais e Cultura, Dra. Ao Ieong U; representante do Gabinete de Ligação do Governo Central na Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, Dr. Hong Bo; representante do Comissariado do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros da República Popular da China na Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, Dr. Zheng Xinyou; Director da Direcção dos Serviços do Ensino Superior, Dr. Sou Chio Fai; Sub-Directora da Direcção dos Serviços de Educação e Juventude, Dra. Leong Vai Kei; representantes de outros departamentos do Governo, instituições, benfeitores, sociedades, e das Associações de Estudantes e Alumni.
Para além de ser a comemoração do início do mandato do Reverendo Professor Morgan, também foi uma oportunidade de agradecimento formal ao Reitor cessante, Professor Peter Stilwell, pelos seus oito anos de gestão e liderança da Universidade. O Chanceler D. Stephen Lee observou, no seu discurso, que “os próximos anos se afiguram cheios de promessas para a USJ. É uma instituição que expressa de maneira singular uma particularidade essencial de Macau enquanto local de encontro cultural, intelectual e religioso.”
O Reverendo Professor Stephen Morgan admitiu que “mudança haverá certamente, como aliás sempre acontece com uma alteração de liderança”, mas reforçou que “essa mudança será sempre alimentada pela intenção de preservar e de fortalecer a identidade e a missão da Universidade de São José”. O Reverendo Professor Morgan finalizou o seu discurso com a promessa de envidar esforços incansáveis, enquanto colega e líder-servidor, rumo a um bom porto.
